Hello, I am Michelle Reeve, owner of Rhea Lana's of Barton Creek. I grew up in Austin (78749) and lived here for over 30 years before life took me to the Dallas area for a decade. There I had my son and discovered Rhea Lana's. Rhea Lana's was such a positive experience for me that when it was time to come back home to Austin, I brought Rhea Lana's with me. I am so excited to bring Rhea Lana's of Barton Creek to the Austin area and I am looking forward to seeing the impact the sales events have on our families.

My story as a mother is similar to so many moms. I had all the things to make sure my son was clothed, nurtured, toys he could engage with to help him with coordination, items to help him learn through play. And soon enough - he grew out of all those clothes and mastered those skills and needed bigger clothes and different toys. I found myself surrounded with quality children's items (some even with tags still on them) and I didn't know what to do.

I tried to sell items online and I sold items to brick-and-mortar consignment stores. Neither of those made a difference in my bank account or left me feeling like I helped other families. I kept saying, there has to be a better way for children's consignment. And that's when I discovered Rhea Lana's.

I really fell in love with Rhea Lana's when I worked an event. I learned Rhea Lana's is so much more than the dollar amount in my pocket after the sale and how much I saved buying quality items for my son. Rhea Lana's truly is families helping families.

My first Rhea Lana's sales event was such a positive experience. I both sold at the event and worked the event. I helped a young girl around 9 years old sort her clothes for the event. She was selling one of her favorite dresses she grew out of, and she was so happy that another child could pick out her dress at the sale and perhaps love it as much as she did. Fast forward to sales day, I saw a girl with a pile of dresses she picked out. Her mother said she had to narrow the pile down to 10 of her favorites. I saw a young boy so excited about a pair of shoes he found at the sale that he wore them as he left the sales event.

These two experiences took me back to my childhood and beyond with my mom. My mother was a librarian and worked in a neighborhood where families had to choose between food/clothing and paying bills. My mom would take the clothes I had outgrown and keep them in the office letting all the teachers know if they saw a child in need, my clothes and shoes were in the office. I was at the school one day with my mom and I saw a girl skipping down the hall in one of my favorite outfits and I thought, "I felt that way when I wore that." It was the first memory I have of feeling pure heart felt joy. As I grew older, my mom and I volunteered at Austin's Coats for Kids. We worked several coat sorting shifts and my mom's favorite was distribution day. She proudly wore her "Se Habla Espanol" pin and loved helping families get the coats they wanted. So when I was working Rhea Lana's and saw the joy of children offering their favorite clothes to other children and then those children loving the quality items they found....it took me back to my mom and her service to her community.

My Rhea Lana's mentor wisely told me, "All families can use Rhea Lana's in their lives, they just might not know how just yet".

If you have quality children's items, I encourage you to sign up as a consignor and experience how Rhea Lana's can help your family.
If you need quality children's items, I encourage you to shop at our event.
If you want to see the impact Rhea Lana's is having on local families, I encourage you to sign up to work the event.

Thank you so much for this opportunity to serve our community through children's consignment. I look forward to seeing you at the sales event.
